Mark lent Nick a large loan from his gambling wins to help set up Nick's property investment company.
Due to the divorce, Nick has encountered difficulty keeping up his word in repaying Mark back for the loan.

Rosumand Baker Fact Sheet:

She helped secure land owned by the Church for Nick in return that he builds community focused projects, such as a new village hall for residents.
However, Nick changed the proposals to build luxury flats for City Traders, to act as their second homes in the countryside.
She saw this as a betrayal of his word.
This act has created a great sense of community resentment.

It is a well known secret that Anthony, was having an affair with Nick's at the time, wife Matilda.
It is unknown whether Nick confronted Anthony directly about this.

Nick was a patient under his supervision for close to a decade.
However, their relationship deteriated when Nick sold Nightingale a luxury apartment on the church grounds.
On moving in to the apartment, Nightingale realised that the property was mis-sold as many faults have been discovered.
The overall standard of the property is poor and far from what was advertised.
